Galia Barkai

Since 2019, Dr. Galia Barkai has served as the director of the Pediatric Infectious Disease Unit as well as the head of telemedicine innovation hub, ARC. In 2018, she became part of Sheba's management team as a medical director intern. Previously, Dr. Barkai worked at Sheba as a consultant for pediatric infectious diseases and as a senior physician in the pediatrics department. Dr. Barkai completed her training in pediatrics at the Kaplan Medical Center in Rehovot, and specialized in infectious diseases at Soroka Medical Center in Be'er Sheva. Dr. Barkai holds an MD from Tel Aviv University. As a current member of the Inbar Healthcare Management Program, a joint venture of The MAOZ organization with Israel's Ministry of Health, she is working toward an MBA with a specialization in health systems management at Tel Aviv University.
