Neal Reynolds

Dr. Reynolds originally trained as an electrical engineer at the University of Maryland, College Park, before completing his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Maryland school of Medicine, Baltimore, Maryland in 1976. Next, he completed his residency at the University of Hawaii before his critical care fellowship at Wayne State in Detroit, Michigan in 1987. Dr. Reynolds has been involved in telemedicine for over a decade and a half as a Tele-ICU director, utilizing robotic technology at Bon Secours Hospital, Baltimore. That team operationalized the first commercial Tele-ICU in the United states in 2002. Dr. Reynolds is the co-author of six chapters dedicated to telemedicine, Tele-ICU, and telemedicine billing as well as the co-author of a national Tele-ICU position paper sponsored by the Soc. of Critical Care Medicine. He has also written five peer reviewed articles on the topic of telemedicine and Tele-ICU, twelve telemedicine abstracts and given more than 20 regional and national talks. Dr. Reynolds has also spent eight years working with the Maryland General Assembly on telemedicine legislation. He is a member of the MedChi Legislative Committee for the oversite of all medical related legislation in Maryland, the chairman of the Clinical Advisory Group for the Maryland Telemedicine Task Force, and co-founder and vice president of the Maryland TeleHealth Alliance. Dr. Reynolds is the telehealth consultant and grant reviewer for the Maryland HealthCare Commission and has established a Tele-ICU program to cover the COVID-19 Units March 2020 utilizing InTouch Health technology.
