Wayne Teris, MD, CPE, FAAFP is currently Chief Medical Officer at Care Compass Network (CCN) in Binghamton, NY. Dr. Teris earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Pittsburgh, and a Graduate Certificate in biomedical informatics from Oregon Health and Sciences University. He completed his family medicine residency at The Washington Hospital, is board certified in family medicine, has been named as a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians and is a Certified Physician Executive. He began his career on active duty for four years as a family physician and Chief of Family Practice at Air Force hospitals in North Dakota and Virginia. He then was an emergency physician at Walter Reed Memorial Hospital prior to relocating to Binghamton, NY, where he was a practicing family physician for 27 years. While in clinical practice, he also served as a physician informaticist for his multispecialty group during the initiation and optimization of business intelligence and quality dashboards. Dr. Teris transitioned to a full-time administrative role in 2014 as the Physician Advisor for clinical documentation improvement and utilization management, and Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO) at Our Lady of Lourdes Memorial Hospital prior to joining CCN in 2017.
